So I thought I’d kick off the launch of the new blog with introductions all around. Tess and I have lived on Oahu for about a year and a half now together, and we absolutely love it. This is such an amazing place filled with so much opportunity and some really incredible people. When we’re not behind the lens, you may find us at the beach, hiking to a hidden waterfall somewhere, or just enjoying life in general.
Here’s a picture of Tess from our recent trip to Vancouver:

We got engaged earlier this year and plan to get married this upcoming spring(!) In preparation for our life together & starting a family, we decided that we should probably start getting used to the idea of taking care of something that is alive, so we weren’t caught off guard when the real time comes. We started with an organic garden (which went relatively well), and recently upgraded to a couple of goldfish.
One is female – named Ingrid. She is very graceful and can swim really fast.

Homer is our second lovable little fish. He has the unfortunate challenge of being mostly, if not all the way blind. Naturally, this makes him clumsier than Ingrid, but we love him just the same. Here he is chillin with one of the snails.

When it comes to meal time, I start getting flashbacks as their feeding frenzy reminds me of hungry hungry hippos. Ingrid tends to devour everything in sight while Homer takes desperate stabs in the dark, hoping to catch some food in his mouth. Once he realizes that there is no food left and Ingrid has completely gorged herself, he usually tries to appeal to us for some sympathy.

Welcome to our crazy little world!
